Euro Result: Slovenia 1-1 Denmark
Jude Bellingham scored one goal in Gelsenkirchen as the runners-up in EURO 2020 won Group C to start their 2024 campaign.
In the exciting Group C opening in Stuttgart, UEFA EURO 2024, Slovenia and Denmark had little to pick between them, ending in a 1-1 draw.
Slovenia created the first real opportunity of the match when Benjamin Šeško‘s long-range attempt went agonisingly close but just wide.
But Denmark seized the lead after just one minute. In his first game back in this tournament after suffering a heart arrest at EURO 2020, Jonas Wind performed a terrific job to flick on a fast throw, and Eriksen was there to chest down and finish with style. The midfielder’s goal was a fantastic moment.
With a corner generating panic in the Denmark area and Petar Stojanović missing with a header, Slovenia had a good start to the second half.
